And just like that (few days shy of her first birthday), Arya decided that she had somewhere to go and her new Sweet N Swag Moxfords are currently our fave shoes to take her there! Baby girl is on the move, and I couldn’t be more proud. Watching her enjoy the newfound independence is the coolest thing! But with movement comes a whole new ball game — teaching her how to keep her shoes ON for function, instead of for cute aesthetics.
We’ve tried all kinds of baby moccasins, but Sweet N Swag are definitely our favorite! The price point is so wallet friendly (only $20-$22 a pair). Specifically, I am obsessed with their newly launched line of baby “Moxfords”. How cute are these? Sweet N Swag makes handmade shoes that stay on your babies’ feet using “Stay-put Technology”. I didn’t quite believe they would actually be baby proof but as below pictures will show, even Arya couldn’t get them off without my help. Score!
Gone are the days where she’ll actually allow me to dress her up! Instead, it’s a battle of wills — her pulling something off, me putting it back on, and repeat. Typically I end up losing (see below for proof) — in more ways than one. I lose the battle of wills and then shortly after I lose the actual item itself too. There’s a Target aisle out there that’s probably home to half the things I can’t seem to locate around the apartment anymore!
But not these moxfords; they’re designed around the classic oxford style shoe while using the functionality of the traditional baby moccasin. The moxfords feature a hidden elastic threaded around the heel & tongue of the shoe with hidden seams. To me, the style is a little more elevated than a standard mocc, but for baby they’re just as comfortable. I’m very obviously into neutrals, and so I chose this pair of moxfords for her everyday pair, as a play on what “neutral” means. I’ve decided that baby pink is a neutral, and these are in heavy rotation for Arya’s outfits lately. So yeah, she’s what they call pre-walking. Which is basically step-step-step-boom, step-boom-step-step, step-step-squirrel!, boom! Yet another baby milestone that brings with it a need to find gear that’s functional, affordable, and freaking adorable too. We’re in size 3 which features a soft sole ideal for crawling and learning to walk, while sizes 4-10 feature a durable rubber sole for active play. Sweet N Swag designs footwear to grow, so I know I’ll be adding a few more pairs to Arya’s collection soon!
