FAQ

The details on some of the questions we get asked the most!

Are you still blogging at The Bloggerella?

Quick answer? No! Why? Blogs are typically a reflection of their author’s lives, and as much as I enjoyed that season of my life, becoming a mom is a whole different ball game. My life is so different these days, that it only made sense to allow my creative space to change too! That’s how The Mom Life was born, and I’m so grateful to be able to continue storytelling ūüôā

What camera do you use?

We are currently using a Canon 6D DSLR with a 50mm Prime Lens (a favorite because it’s light, but delivers amazing quality)! We also occasionally use a 24-105mm f/4L Lens and for social media pictures, we also use¬†iPhone 7!

Who takes your photos?

Photography for The Mom Life is a team effort! Rob and I both take photos for the site, and are mostly¬†self-taught. I always recommend taking the time to learn at least the basics — it allows you the flexibility to drive your own content schedule and you’ll be able to pick-up a new hobby along the way!

What do you use to edit photos?

For iPhone photos we use a few different editing apps — Airbrush, VSCO, Colorfy. For camera photos we use Photoshop!

What is that red lip color I always see you wearing?

The one and only lipstick brand that I swear by — Stila! Most lip color you’ll see me wearing in posts, as well as in everyday life is Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (I love “Fiery” and “Caramello”).

What have you been up to since Newlyweds: The First Year?

Since the show, Rob and I welcomed baby Arya into the world and are currently riding the new parent rollercoaster! Enjoying every second, and Arya is just so lovely.

When will we see you guys on TV again?

We get this question a lot! I’m glad we had the opportunity to share parts of our¬†lives with the world, but so much has changed since then. ¬†If we were ever to do it again it would have to go down A LOT differently than it did the first time around!

Are you a working mom or a stay at home mom?

In the past year, I’ve been able to experience both and I am officially of the opinion that no matter where you fall in the conversation, each presents it’s own set of unique challenges. ‘Momming’ is hard! Now that Arya is older, I’ve resumed my career at ClassPass and she’s started nursery school. I also continue to create content for The Mom Life, so I guess you could say I’ve got three jobs at the moment!

How long will you breastfeed for?

At first the goal was 6 months, but once Arya and I made it, we just sort of continued! Now, my new goal is 1 year and then we’ll attempt to start the weaning process (keyword: attempt)! Mostly though, I’m just ignoring a plan and following what feels right for us.
